Rediscovering Love: Anuv and Ayesha’s Journey to Harmony.
A Story of Patience and Understanding
One afternoon, fed up with the endless arguments, Ayesha decided to visit Sri Ram Baba on her own. She felt certain that if anyone could help her, it would be him. When she arrived at his humble ashram, she poured out her frustrations, blaming her husband for all the troubles in their marriage. "He’s harsh, insensitive, and never takes responsibility," she lamented.
Sri Ram Baba listened intently, his calm gaze never wavering. When Ayesha finished, he spoke softly, “A few days ago, your husband, Anuv, came to me as well. He, too, had complaints—about you. He said you are critical, sarcastic, and inattentive to his needs.”
Ayesha’s face flushed with anger. “So, he’s been talking behind my back? That just proves his character!”
Sri Ram Baba smiled gently and said, “And what are you doing now, Ayesha? Aren’t you speaking behind his back too? Both of you are trapped in a cycle of blame. You each see the flaws in the other but fail to recognize your own. You both want love and respect, yet neither of you is willing to give it first.”
Ayesha fell silent, the weight of his words sinking in.
The Baba continued, “You have forgotten that love is not something you demand; it is something you give. Start by changing your own actions and see the ripple effect. If you want kindness, be kind. If you want understanding, be understanding. When one person changes, the entire dynamic shifts.”
Ayesha returned home deep in thought. Though skeptical at first, she decided to follow Sri Ram Baba’s advice. She began treating Anuv with more patience, responding with kindness even when he seemed irritable. Slowly, her efforts began to bear fruit. Anuv, surprised by the shift in her behavior, softened in return. The tension that had once filled their home started to dissipate.
In time, their arguments became less frequent. They began to communicate more openly and with greater empathy. Laughter, which had been absent for so long, slowly crept back into their lives. Anuv and Ayesha realized that the change they had long sought in each other had actually been within themselves all along.
Their transformation wasn’t immediate or easy, but with patience and effort, they rediscovered the joy and love that had once brought them together. Soon, they too were spending their days laughing, just like Aravinda and Mamita.
Anuv and Ayesha learned that the key to a happy marriage wasn’t about trying to change each other. It was about changing themselves—about mastering their own reactions, being more forgiving, and choosing love over pride. In the process, they created a new harmony, one that brought them peace not just with each other, but with themselves.
